The exact point at which My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic (Generation 4.0) "jumped the shark" remains a subject of hot debate; for some it was Season 3 Episode 13: "Magical Mystery Cure", for others Season 5 Episode 1: "More Human Than Human", and for some Season 6 Episode 4: "Sea Ponies Need Not Apply". It is generally agreed, however, that by the time of Season 8 Episode 12: "See You Later, Allicorn", toy-based story directives issued by the Hasbro Marketing Department had become so bizarre and incomprehensible as to render the show unwatchable. While few historians would say that the multimedia extravaganza surrounding the premiere of Season 9 was *solely* responsible for the brief but horrific war with Canada, it certainly *contributed* to the atmosphere of hatred and intolerance which sparked the terrible conflict.
